The main feature of these bearings is ability to conceive
radial and axial load in one direction. In the production, there are bearings with four different value of contact
angle: 15° (suffix С), 25° (suffix А5), 30° (suffix А), and 40° (suffix В). The
bigger contact angle, the bigger axial load can be taken by the bearing.
Smaller contact angle is made for high speed working mode. Usually, they are
mounted in an assorted way, with selected exact clearance space between
bearings. Basically, the separators are made from steel, but in extra fine
bearings with 30° contact angle, we are using separators made from polyamide
plastic.
Thrust ball bearings come in two designs: single direction and double
direction. The single direction design comprises two rings, referred to
as shaft and housing washers and a single ball and cage assembly. The double
direction design, on the other hand, comprises three washers and two ball and
cage assemblies. The ball and cage assemblies of the double direction type are
separated by the shaft washer.
